VermontDistance: 6 1/2 F Dirt
Purse: $1,000,000
Sponsor: URC Residency
Welcome all to the greatest day in Sim land. Congratulations to all the trainers that will be representing their respective residencies. Today's race may the toughest race to win on the entire 2 cards. Speed can't lie, and today's horses and jockeys can have no miscues if they are to find the winners circle. At stake is an overall purse of one million dollars. The bragging rights of whose residency reigns supreme and whom personally can say they have the fastest horse in the Universe is at stake. We have some veteran hard knockers that are accustomed to graded sprints. We have some up and comers who look to put the old men out to stud. We have some amazing frontrunning speed, and we have the dead stalk closers who will be looking to close off an anticipated suicidal pace. Usain Bolt is the world record holder for the 200m in a time of 19.9 seconds. That calculates to 23 mph. Sorry Usain, today your 99-1 and won't get a sniff of the lead. Ladies and gentleman, please give a warm welcome to the fastest 20 horses in the Sim. Starting from the rail out:

1) Dell Penn Residency: Procedure- 5 Yr Old Horse- Trained by the collective Super Stables. 10-1 (Proehl).
Analysis: The #1 horse is Procedure, a 5 yr old son of Fusaichi Pegasus. Procedure, the number 6th ranked sprinter in the world, enters the race having earned 1.6 million dollars in 29 career starts. He is the defending champion of the Dell Penn Sprint Championship 2 races back. From a race perspective, Procedure has many things to like. He is a tactical speed type horse who will lay back a bit today and let the frontrunners do their thing. He will likely move up into contention nearing the 3f marker and make his move through the stretch. A horse who just ran the best race of his life, is looking to back it up with another strong performance. Procedure is out to prove that he can consistently run with this quality. He runs consistent speed numbers, and must run his best effort today to win this. Look for Procedure to be sitting 4-6th down the backside, and make his move with 3f to go. Capable threat for The Dell Penn Crew.
2) Hispano Parlante Residency: K's Alchimadus- 5yr old Horse- Trained by Ledwith. 17-1 (H. Ross).
Analysis: The #2 horse is K's Alchimadus, a son of Ghostzapper .. 3 time '09 Eclipse Award winner K. Ledwith enters a suprising backup to the race. 60% ITM trainer decides to let Champion Sprinter, K's Storm Maker have a rest and enters K's Alcimadus. He comes into the race with earnings of $366,000 from 20 career starts. He won his last, an allowance prep with a 105 speed number. Since February, K's Alchimadus has had 4 attempts at grade company. His best result was the Gr3 Ariz Silver Spoon where he finished a game 2nd. K's Alchimadus is a closing type sprinter who will find himself back early in today's race. He will get the help of suicidal fractions today, which should help his chances of picking up late horses. Unlike some in here, the 6 1/2f will be fine for him. Must run his best today and can't let the leaders get too far away early. 17-1 shot, but don't trust this thrifty trainers move. May shock all today.
3) Great Plains Residency: Raphael- 6 yr old horse- Trained by Winterhart. 16-1 (M. Grunhard.)
Analysis: The #3 horse is Raphael, a 6 yr old Louisianna bred by sire Lydgate. He has 7 wins in 25 starts with earnings of $ 117,000. He has not been off the board in his last 8 starts, albeit all allowance races. A consistent 100 plus speed number horse who will test the graded company for the first time. A frontrunning horse, Raphel will not find things easy upfront today. He will likely break 4th or 5th today, and have to make his move later than his running style may dicatate. If he can change his running style a bit, and overcome the huge class obstacle, Raphel could run fairly well. The key for him today is to relax early and let the pure frontrunners battle up front and make a timed move when he first sees visible signs of them unfolding.
4) GR Simsters Residency: Superman- 6 Yr old Horse- Trained by Waremblem (Winterfell) 8-1 ( A Rolling.)
Analysis: The #4 horse is Superman, a 09' Eclipse sprint nominee and the #5 ranked sprinter in the world. Superman brings an impressive resume to the table with wins in Breeders Bowl Sprint and Sunny Million sprint. He has countless gr1 placings, and comes off his last race with an impressive win earning a 116 speed number. He has earned 2.2 million dollars, so thats the company Superman likes to run with. From today's stand point, Superman is a horse to fear. He has backclass, great speed and an ability to fire in big races. His disappointing effort in the Dell Penn Sprint could be washed away with a victory here. From pace tactics, Superman will break 3rd-4th. Although further back than normal for this guy, he may use that to his advantage. He may find the 1/2 f extra a bit tougher like some others in here, but his class may overcome that. One absolute for him, is that I believe he cannot get into a speed duel with Talkin Baseball. I think they both are served better if the jocks work that out before the race. If Superman runs early with Talkin, they both may set it up for a stalker or closer type. Class horse looms large in this one. Co-fav at 8-1.
5) East- West Connection (EWC) Residency: Foil The Oil- 5 Yr old Horse- Trained by Tyedye- 17-1 (B. Gulch).
Analysis: Lord Pye brings the son of Chineur to the races today with a close 2nd place finish in the Gr3 Shindig Sprint. Foil The Oil has earned $309,000 in 33 starts, with 8 victories. After a victory in a non-graded race, Foil The Oil attempted his first graded race. His 107 speed number last out was a co-all time high and this horse is coming into the race as good as he can be. From a pace standpoint today, Foil will probably be back in the 3rd tier group (8-12th) down the backside. He will try to time his jump perfectly to put himself into contention at the quarter pole. His class will be questioned here today, but the improving 5yr old may surprise some in here if he can time his move with 3f to go.
6) Minnesota Downs Residency: Mini House Band- 5 yr old horse- Trained by Twaits- 14-1 (J. White)
Analysis: Mini House Band comes into today's race with a victory in a NG stakes, earning a 102 for the effort. In his prior race to that, the son of Came Home ran a Residency Stakes race and earned a 113 in the off-going. He has 4 wins in 13 career start after being switched over to the dirt. A nice tactical speed type horse will probably be sitting 5-8th down the backside today and look to further his position later in the race. This horse may try to reverse tactics here and stay off the frontrunners a bit more than usual today. He will have some others who today, will want his usual 2nd-3rd place sitting down the backside. With that said, I feel he may have to adjust his running style and try more of a mid-pace closer style. The horses in front of him may be too fast, but this horse may have an ability to sit further back and make a later move. A tough task here in terms of company, but can surprise if he sticks to his gameplan early.
7) Ohio Thoroughbred Racing Residency: Chem Lab- 4 Yr Old Colt- Trained by Zman- 18-1 (J waymer)
Analysis: Chem Lab enters with 10 wins in 25 starts. The son of Belong To Me comes into today's race with an allowance prep where he finished 3rd with a 102 speed number. Chem Lab had 4 speed numbers of 109 in a 5 race stretch. His biggest effort came in the Gr3 Camelot Road, where he finished 2nd by a head. A frontrunning type horse, Chem Lab wil be one of a few in here to push the pace early. Chem Lab will probably break 3-6th today and must be able to accept that early position and welcome it. If he can settle into stride early, he will have a birdseye view of when the pace may be too much and start to time his move. A very consistent horse, Chem Lab will have to prove that he can run with this company, but his athletic running style gives him a chance to surprise here today.
8) Benelux Residency: Rebel Ring- 5 yr old Horse- Trained by CeClaim (Kempen Farm)- 15-1 (Snowlynn)
Anaylsis: Rebel Ring, a son of Storm Cat, comes into today's race with a allowance prep win. Prior to that, he ran in 5 stakes races, winng 4 of them with speed numbers of 111,110 and 108 respectively. He has won 7 out of his last 8 races, 4 of them being stakes races. At 15-1, Rebel Ring is going to make his presence felt. Only a handful of horses in today's race have a pure mid-pack stalking range. This is one of them. Combine that with a the great training job, and this horse has not been asked for his best effort yet. Today, yes the class is much greater than he usually faces, but he may be a horse ready to pop a big one. Loves the 6 1/2 f distance and will be passing many tired horses late. Running style, breeding, consistent closing efforts make this horse a severe underlay at 15-1.Can score points for Benelux with this entry.
9) Hong Kong Residency: Council Of Five- 6 Yr old Horse- Trained by Liddleski- 10-1 (V Jennings)
Anaysis: Liddleski brings a very useful runner today in Council Of Five. The son of Albert The Great, Council comes into today's race having dominated a NG Stakes race, winning by 4 1/2 lengths. If you want a pedal to the medal type horse, this is it. Some of his early margings at call #2 include: 10 1/2 (His last race), 6 1/2, 6 1/4, 6 and 4. One track mind horse has some serious speed up front. In his only graded attempt, Council Of Five used his early speed to his advantage early, but the gave way turning for home. The question here today is: Did Council learn from that graded effort? What will he do today? Will he try to lead them out of the gate early? His competition will be watching him closely as they may let him do the work upfront early. A couple in here who may have more quality gate speed may tell him to step back. If that happens, he must regroup and try to settle earlier and save some for the tank turning for home. Will try to go wire to wire on the field and will be a fun horse to watch throughout. Gets 18% jock to try to help with figuring out today's tactics.
10) Universal Racing Club (URC): Talkin' Baseball- 4 yr old colt- Trained by Metallinut- 11-1 (Q. Simien)
Analylsis: Talkin' Baseball comes to today's race with earnings of 1.6 million in 19 career starts. The son of Grand Slam will be entering his 2nd Equinics race. The 2 yr old Eclipse nominee will have much to say about today's outcome. In his last effort, Talkin' Baseball won the Gr3 Wicker Sofa Stakes and earned a 116 speed number for the effort. The young 4 yr old was taken off the sprint trail for a bit to try the Derby route. Since then he is back on the sprint campaign and looks to become the leader of the division. Talkin' has many things to like about today. He is a top class sprinter, and doesn't want anyone near him out of the gate. He likes to run fast early and refuses to let anyone run with him. Today, he must try to do that and relax his fractions up front. There are a couple that will try to run with him early, but that may be at their own peril. The key for this speedster is to save some for the extra 1/2 f that may not be all to his liking. The mid-packers have a bit more time to unravel and try to catch him turning for home. Only knows one way to win, and that's wire to wire. A big cue horse here for all jocks to follow. If he gets early lead comfortable, may steal it on front end. Expect him to take the lead and try to wire them. Solid threat For URC with this one.
11) Queensland Residency: Kombi Me- 5 yr old horse- Trained by Kingdamo- 20-1 (G. Blackmore)
Analysis: Kombi Me enters today's race with A NG stakes race prep in which he finished 3rd. The son of Encosta De Lago will be attempting his first graded try. Kombi Me is a solid performing horse. He has hit the board in his last 8 starts with 4 being wins (2 of them stakes). The middle breakers of this race will be fun to watch out of the gate. With Council Of Five, Talkin' Baseball and Kombie Me all breaking next to each other, it will be curious to see who will get the lead and who will back off. Kombi Me has Never been headed in the first 3 calls of any dirt races in his life (13 and counting). So another in here with a one track mind. Kombi Me has opened up some nice margins turning for home, and can usually outlast most of them in his races. Today's class will test his ability to rate maybe just a bit. He steps up into graded company today and will also look to wire the field. He may have to back off early, with some of thr frontrunners in here today. If he can settle in 2nd or 3rd, he will try to use a different tactic to get the job done. If he gets the lead, he is going to try to open up early on them. 20-1 shot will add alot of intrigue to this race and he will try to take them as far as he can. Nice threat for Queensland here today.
12) State Bred Residency: Q Bert- 6 yr old horse- Trained by Pazzjazz- 99-1 (N Lawton).
Anaylsis: Q Bert, a 6yr old son of New Mexico sire Quinton's Gold, steps to the plate for the newly formed State Residency. An allowance type horse, Q Bert will try to run some of these down late with his off the pace tactics. A winnner in his last race, a restricted claiming race, Q Bert is here today to do the Residency proud and promote his home. Facing a tough bunch today, but Q Bert has a bigger agenda here today. Go support State Bred races with the newly formed Res and don't miss out on some fun Statebred action.
13) Ireland Residency: Lil Saint Nick- 6 yr old horse- Trained by Hawkz- 14-1 (L. Ahrens)
Anaylsis: Lil Saint Nick, a son of Mingun, steps up to the plate for the Ireland Residency. A winner of 8 starts in 32 races, has hit the board in 6 of his last 8 races. Lil SaintNick tries graded company for the 2nd time today after his disappointing finish in the Gr3 Save A Buck. Lil Saint Nick is a stalker to mid-type runner who should enjoy today's trip. He will take back to 10-12th down the backside today, and make his move a bit earlier than many in here. He has a good turn of foot, but today he must use that earlier than normal. A miler type distance runner, Lil Saint Nick will use his stamina to his advantage in this all out sprint race. He should be getting under way when many in here will have thrown in the towel. He has hit the board in 9 of 17 sprint races earlier in his career. Should be getting his motor going with 3f to go and look to pass many of the tired ones in here.
14) Blazing Saddles Residency: Henny Again- 5 yr old horse- Trained by Desperado - (8-1 co-fav) (Givens)
Anaylsis: Henny Again, a son Of Henny Hughes, from stable Henny (say that fast 3 times), is coming into today's race with a victory in the NG stakes race Don Slew Memorial. In 25 starts, Henny Again has won 9 and has amassed earnings of 1.1 million. Henny Again runs in big races, period. Put a Gr1 status at 6f and this horse will be there in the entry box. 7 of his last 8 races were all gr 1's and 2's. His last was a prep for this event. Henny Again brings many good things to the table here today. Mainly class and running style. His class cannot be questioned, but his running style today fits perfectly for today's event. Today, Henny Again will probably be 4th-7th down the backside. He will use this wicked pace to his advantage. Henny Again is an athletic horse who can settled back a bit if need be. His will like 6 1/2f more than most in here and the old pro will make his move when the frontrunners begin to slow their stride. He has (4 )114 speed numbers or higher in his last 8 races. The 3rd place finisher in the Dell Penn Sprint, and the 4th place finisher in the BB Sprint will use his class and age to find his way to the wire. Dangerous horse today from all angles as Henny Again looks to do Blazzing Saddles proud.
15) Comedy Central Residency: Nationwide- 5 yr old horse- Trained by NPark - 34-1 (L. Synder)
Analysis: Natiowide, a beautifully bred son of Bernardini, enters today's contest with a runner-up finish to Henny Again in the NG Stakes The Dom Slew Memorial. Prior to that he came 2nd in the Comedy Central Restricted stakes race where he earned a 103 speed number. With only 5 dirt races in his career, 3 being of late, the consistent performer gets the push to enter his 1st graded attempt. A front-running style horse, Nationwide will not have the lead today. He must be patient and accept his 6-9th position down the backside and try not to out muscle some of the stronger frontrunners in here. He likes the 6 1/2f distance fine, and will try to lay mid-pack and make a perfectly timed move on the frontrunners to the stretch. A horse today that is definitly capable of making a surge in speed numbers, he will try to fire his best for the Comedy Central Crew.
16) Northwest Racing Circuit: Prado's Choice- 4 yr old colt- Trained by Phantom- 14-1 (P. Wright)
Analysis: One of only 4 (4 yr olds) in the race, Prado's Choice brings and upcoming fear to the division. Already ranked 12th in the division, this horse is coming into the race ready to take over the division leaders. In 2 starts back, the then 3 yr old finished a closing 3rd in The BB Sprint, earning a 108 speed number. In his last race, he finished 5th, beaten by only 1 1/4 lengths in the Dell Penn Sprint. In June and July he won 2 gr 2's coming way off the pace to get up in time. Impressive at 3 yrs old, he now starts his 4 yr old campaign with the toughest of races to win. Do we have a new division leader? Well, maybe, but today this horse is as serious a threat as they come. The absolute class horse who will actualy relish the 1/2f extra today. Prado's Choice always runs big, but sometimes get beat because he needs a bit more track to get going. Well today, the division leaders have to play at his park. The only thing that can get him not to find the winners circle today, is if he lays to far back off the wicked early speed. Consistently fires 1:08 and change everytime out and today he will get his much needed 6 1/2 f against the tops. Strong entry here for the NWRC boys and girls.
17) MIDAS Residency: Stairwaytoparadise- 6 yr old horse- Trained by Tulloch- 10-1 ML(3rd Fav) (Haynes)
Analysis: Stairwaytoparadise, a son of Pine Bluff, enters today's race with a 9th place finish in the Dell Penn Sprint. The dissapointing result will be washed away here if he can find the winners circle. In 32 starts, with 9 victories, Stairwaytoparadise has earned 1.2 million dollars. He has hit the board in 5 of his last 8 races with all of them being graded. His wins came in a Gr1 and a Gr3. His career best speed number of 114 puts this horse right into the mix at the wire. In March, he was the runnerup in the Gr1 $2,000,000 Sand castle Sprint which he fired a 114 speed number.
Stairwaytoparadise has much to like today. He is no stranger to today's status of this race, and it's just another walk to the track for the old pro. He may have to sit 4-7th today down the backside, but his class will keep him close enough to make a run for it when the time is right. The 6 1/2 f on paper doesn't seem to help much, but one of his best races was at 7f. So he's capable of getting the distance with the right kinda trip. Jock Haynes must let some others in here go knocking early, and let the veteran tell him when it's time to go. Solid entry for the Midas Residency.
18) EAAA Residency: Golden Silk- 4 yr old colt- Trained by Tees- 15-1 (B.F Abman)
Analysis: The Aussie connections bring Golden Silk to the race today. One of only 4 (4 yr olds) here today, the lightly raced horse is another in here looking to have the torched passed to him. The ever improving horse comes into today with a victory in the Gr1 Malibu Sprint. A strong 3 yr old sprint which many times identifies who are going to be the best 4 yr olds next year. Golden Silk ran a 120: 4/5 for the 7f race, earning a 115 speed number. In his race prior to that, his first graded effort, Golden Silk ran against the olders and ran a respectable 5th, losing by only 5 lengths. More mature now, and the elders a little longer in the tooth, say that this guy can make his run for the division lead. For today's race, Silk will probably sit 4th -6th down the backside and nudge into contention with 3f to go. He is 2 for 2 at the distance although not against this type. He must prove that he's ready to consistently tackle graded company now, but a solid effort is the outlook for today's race with this guy.
19) Vermont Residency (Pastures Of Green): Creepy Cat- 4 yr old colt- Trained By Synder- 20-1 (Coates)
Analysis: The dangerous Residency of Vermont bring Creepy Cat, a son of Storm Cat to the race. After going through his allowance conditions easily, Creepy Cat ended the year with a stakes victory and a 4th place finish in the Gr1 Malibu. A winner of 5 of 8 career races, Creepy Cat will be tested before like never before. The veterans will try to work this horse around to their liking. But, this horse has more upside potential than any other in here. Today he will answer some questions for Synder as to where he's at right now with the big guys of the block. Today, Creepy Cat will sit around 7-10th down the backside, and will try to use his liking of this distance to his advantage. What this horse may lack in class experience, he may make up for with his affinity for the distance. Plenty of rest and a now 4 yr old makes Creepy Cat a live play at 20-1.

Smoke's Anaylsis:
This is my 2nd draft, after losing 11 horses preview due to blue comp screen I hear called "Screen Of Death". So I apologize if some are not as long or as indepth as I usually like to do. But anyway...........
First of all, congratulations to all the trainers and best of luck to all the Residencies for their participation of the Equinics Event.
What an exciting race this is going to be. From a handicapping perspective, the break of this race is unreal. There are possibly 5-6 horses that can get the lead. That may affect everyone's running style and set it up for a stalker, mid-pack or one particular late closer. Particulary from the 9-10-11 post positions, speed will be coming from the middle gate horses. I think Talkin' Baseball will jump out early, followed by Kombi Me and then Council Of Five. Those 3 in particular will dictate the early parts of the race and will cue most other jocks as to when to make thier move. I'll do the impossible task of trying to stab 5 in here:
1) Northwest Racing Circuit- Prado's Choice- 14-1. Last 2 were big runs in 2 most important sprint races. Gets the much needed extra distance and will be flying late.
2) GR Simsters- Superman- 8-1. Breeders Bowl winner and earner of 2.2 million knows how to fire in big races. May not be as close today than normal, but his class will get him home.
3) URC Residency- Talkin' Baseball- 11-1. Classy sprinter will look to wire the field. Will the 6 1/2 furlongs be a tad long for him against these? He will lead them as long as he can go and could be to the wire.
4) Blazzing Saddles Residency- Henny Again- 8-1. Old man pro out for just a regular run in the park. Pace scenario should suit him fine here if takes back a bit at start. Definitly capable of win if can rate accordingly.
5) Dell Penn Residency- Procedure- 10-1. Expect the 1.6 million dollar earner to right the ship after his last. Dell Penn sprint winner can get a good stalking trip and win it with a good trip.
That's it from here today. Good luck to all the horses and owners and bring it home for your respective Residencies, 'cause it's now post time!!!!!
