""The American Heart Association is committed to fighting heart disease and stroke and raising awareness of these diseases. As part of our mission, we focus on specific causes designed to help people achieve a heart-healthy lifestyle. Each of our cause initiatives reaches out to the public with resources and information to help them take positive action. Be a part of the cure. Be an advocate You dont have to be a doctor to save lives. Just be willing to deliver a lifesaving message to public officials whenever you can. Maybe youve already participated with the American Heart Association before by walking in a Heart Walk. Or perhaps youve helped organize a gala event. Maybe you even helped someone survive a heart attack or stroke. At moments like these, Youre the Cure. Even if youre someone who wants to get involved for the first time, you can be part of the cure. The American Heart Association recommends that heart attack prevention begin by age 20. This means assessing your risk factors and working to keep them low. For those over 40, or those with multiple risk factors, its important to calculate the risk of developing cardiovascular disease in the next 10 years. Many first-ever heart attacks or strokes are fatal or disabling, so prevention is critical. The sooner you begin comprehensive risk reduction, the longer and stronger your heart will beat.""
AMERICAN HEART G1 - Restricted Race ID:3672.3702 Grade I Six furlongs Fast Dirt $1,000,000 Fillies and mares, 3 years old PP # | Horse | Residency | Trainer | Jockey | Odds | 1 | 139221 SEHR GUT(NZ) | EAAA | scootboy | L Owens | 12/1 | | SEHR GUT (DANSKE x KENMARE x ROBELLINO) will step in to the gate this weekend safe in the knowledge that first prize for Most Effective Breeding is already hers and locked away. Its an absolute credit to her trainer that a horse with such obscure breeding has become a five times stakes winner (four in sprints) against the furious horde of blue-blooded, born with a silver spoon in their mouth types that are the usual fair in stakes company. But I digress; SEHR GUT started her career with an impressive juvenile campaign that has so far accounted for all but one of her stakes wins. Her year so far as a three year old has not bought about the same success in terms of victories but her speeds have continued to rise and she was far from disgraced when fifth in the G2 Fence Fryer Stakes two starts back. Shell have to replicate that performance and then some to win here for trainer scootboy, but her quality in the shorter races will keep her in the mix for some minor money at the least.Record: 15r (7-3-1) $246,300 | 2 | 44289 DIXIEBURG(KY) | Kentucky Horsemen | bluegrass | H McCoy | 25/1 | | DIXIEBURG (JOHANNESBURG x DIXIELAND BAND x TURKOMAN) comes to us as a lightly raced, winner of five, running for the Kentucky Horseman residency. DIXIEBURG has plied her trade for the majority of her career in allowance sprints, which includes three wins on the trot earlier this year. Her one graded try as a 2yo in the G2 Dazzling Daisies Stakes was a fizzer, but that can be excused for being a year ago. What cant be excused however (when judging her chances for this race) is that she has no recent stakes form to speak of. DIXIEBURG hasnt been tested as a 3yo until this race so its difficult to ascertain how shell handle the quantum leap up in competition. Owner bluegrass will be hoping she can do just that and cause a few blushes amongst yours truly and a few of her more fancied rivals.Record: 8r (5-1-1) $78,567 | 3 | 99021 SIX DUCHIES(KY) | Blazing Saddles | rohan | W McClendon | 15/1 | | SIX DUCHIES (VINDICATION x SAINT BALLADO x RAISE A NATIVE) is the promising entrant for the Blazing Saddles residency, arriving here on the back of a nifty five-race win streak. In what was her biggest test yet; SIX DUCHIES overcame a small (but solid) field in the QUIETLY COME Special to post her latest and most impressive victory to date. The win provides a perfect stepping-stone into this race where trainer rohan will hope her rapid progress continues with a good performance against some tough company. The big question here is: what does she have left in the tank? If shes been at her limit in any of her recent wins then Id suggest a minor medal would be the most she could aim for. Her form is hot, but she hasnt been racing the best. But, (and at 15/1 its a very intriguing but) if she has been doing just enough to win, then watch out. She may well spring a surprise.Record: 10r (6-2-1) $203,586 | 4 | 140552 SARACEN(KY) | Vermont | dixiedotco | D Givins | 10/1 | | SARACEN (STORM CAT x MR. PROSPECTOR x BUCKPASSER) is an impeccably bred filly who runs under the tutelage of trainer dixiedotco. With earnings of over 750k and three graded wins in her short thirteen-race career, to say shes a contender here today would be nothing but a gross understatement. But Ill do it anyway; shes a contender. As a 2yo she won two from six. Nothing special until you consider that she debuted with one of those wins in a stakes race and that her second start was a narrow head loss in the G3 Butterfly Futurity! She would win a graded race as a 2yo, but its taken till her 3yo campaign to maintain the kind of consistency expected of her. A wire-to-wire victory in the G1 The HELLO MOMMA Special has been her career highlight to date, where she held out fellow entrant here today; APPEAL THIS. If I had to come up with a weakness maybe the fact that six of her last seven races have been in fields of five horses or less would be it. However, with a return of three wins (including a G3), two seconds and a third in that span of races, I would notch that up to good placement by her trainer rather than any deficiency.Record: 13r (6-4-1) $759,750 | 5 | 140557 PULPRATS(KY) | Minnesota | darny | J Caves | 6/1 | | PULPRATS (PULPIT x DANEHILL x SAINT BALLADO) is an impressive looking filly that has really come alive as of late. In her first fourteen races, she had accumulated but two victories and was looking to be heading for a solid, but not spectacular listed stakes career. All that changed in June when she finally held on for first place in The IGNORANTLY YELL Challenge in a blistering speed of 107. She couldnt replicate that feat in the SMACKDOWN after missing the jump at the start but held on bravely to finish only three and a quarter lengths shy of the winner. Trainer darny kept the faith and two weeks later was the owner of a grade three winning filly when PULPRATS took out the G3 Love Muffins Stakes. Her recent up-turn in form is undeniable and she has the speeds to match any here, my only query is with her ability to hold on to a race under seven furlongs. She hasnt been able to do so in stakes company yet. After this weekend yet maybe the operative word.Record: 17r (4-3-6) $222,415 | 6 | 99726 HEARTBREAKERS(KY) | Ohio | candyman | B Renfroe | 17/1 | | HEARTBREAKERS (GRAND SLAM x DANZIG x SADLER SLEW) arrives from Ohio sporting a record of twelve races for three wins. She is out of dam; AMERICAN GIRL who was a versatile, if not spectacular winner of four races. HEARTBREAKERS has yet to taste success beyond allowances, with her best result being a second in The MS. SPEECH Special two starts back. At seven and a half furlongs that race has been the closest she has run to todays distance in a long time which makes it very hard to place her here. Unfortunately for her, her efforts in graded company have been less than impressive, but trainer candyman feels that a drop back in distance maybe just whats needed to uncover a little bit of hidden potential.Record: 12r (3-2-3) $55,134 | 7 | 39 JUEGO DEL FUEGO(AUS) | Ireland | jackworld | N Lawton | 16/1 | | JUEGO DEL FUEGO (ENCOSTA DE LAGO x UNBRIDLED x BOLD RULER) is our first and only horse by an Australian sire in this race. Not surprising, when you consider its a dirt sprint. This young aussie lass has hit form just at the right time, with a career-topping effort in The CROC CALIOPE Stakes last time out. She stalked the early leader from the gate, before edging in front at the halfway point, from which she was never headed. The number twelve horse; HIDALGO was one of those bettered that day. Prior to that break-out win, JUEGO DEL FUEGO had notched up three stake sprint wins as a juvenile, accounting for PULPRIT in her most recent of those. So we know she can get it done against those shell face here. Times however have changed since; the best of this group are throwing out triple speed figure runs with regularity. JUEGO DEL FUEGO has topped that mark just the once (albeit last time out). If that race was a sign of things to come and not just a freak effort then trainer jackworld and the Ireland residency will figure shes a big chance of an upset.Record: 13r (5-2-2) $232,712 | 8 | 148548 BLACKJACK HENNY(KY) | RASH | chorwon | M Brownlow | 13/1 | | BLACKJACK HENNY (HENNY HUGHES x WILD AGAIN x COXs RIDGE) comes to us at the juicy odds of 13/1. Two starts back BLACKJACK HENNY was on top of the world after winning the G2 Manhattan District Stakes by a nose. This within a month of placing second in the G3 DelPenn Beaumont in Eastern Kentucky. In both races she posted triple digit speed figures, in both races she beat fancied opposition. So how is it she enters todays race at such big odds? The answer is her run in G1 The CEVIAN Stakes where she sat back early and uncharacteristically never put up a fight. She finished twelfth that day and the odds makers have judged her harshly for it. For mine? I think if shes physically and mentally recovered from that race you can just throw it out as an anomaly. Shes well rested, shes back in distance and she has a point to prove to her owners and those who may have started to doubt her.Record: 9r (4-2-2) $207,605 | 9 | 137932 CYDONIA(ENG) | Benelux | ceclaim12 | A Rolling | 22/1 | | CYDONIA (ARAAFA x UNBRIDLED x DEVILS BAG) represents the sims Belgian population and comes into this race on the back of a solid, if not spectacular fourteen race career. Three times she has come back to the shed a stakes winner, all at seven furlongs or less. Her most recent win, and most impressive speed-wise has been her victory in The STEALTH OVERTURE Special back in April. Unfortunately for her and her connections, her form has receded since and youd be hard pressed to come up with reasons why she could win this one. Crazier things have happened and I wish her and ceclaim2 all the best.Record: 14r (4-6-1) $185,200 | 10 | 135754 APPEAL THIS(KY) | GR Simsters | upperhand2 | F Gossett | 8/1 | | APPEAL THIS (SUCCESSFUL APPEAL x GONE WEST x ROBERTO) is a grade one winning filly who is yet to miss the board in a sprint race. Barring a disaster, this trend should continue for another week. The G1 Getaway Stakes in New York was the scene of her first and only graded win in what was at the time only her fifth race. Things looked very bright at that stage but an unsuccessful experiment over longer ground would slow her progress briefly. Not to be discounted, she arrived back on the scene with a bang in the G1 The HELLO MOMMA Special where she harried and harassed the aforementioned SARACEN in a monumental battle. She would go down by half a length, but rival trainers would take note of the re-emergence of a contender. Third place in her most recent run at the SMACKDOWN would confirm those beliefs and which sets her up for a nice run here today. Top threat.Record: 12r (5-4-1) $754,590 | 11 | 151640 LA SAYONA(VEN) | Hispano Parlante | alondra | O A Haack | 16/1 | | LA SAYONA (BESTYOUCANBE x KRIS S. x AFFIRMED) is the third and most successful foal out of grade three winning mare SCAFELL PIKE AZ. She has run just seven times so far in her career, but with a mightily impressive return of six wins. Those wins have all come at six and a half furlongs or less which sets her in good stead for today. However, todays race is her first beyond the sheltered company of purchased allowance races. This is a big step up in class and its impossible to know how shell deal with it. On the plus side is the fact that her speeds have been steadily on the improve, even despite her recent first loss. Her future looks bright, but this test may have come just a couple of races too soon.Record: 7r (6-1-0) $122,260 | 12 | 12985 HILDAGO(FR) | CR Racers | flurgen2 | B F Abman | 10/1 | | HILDAGO (LAYMAN x GULCH x STORM CAT) will arrive at the gate today with only four dirt races under her belt. Its a credit to her spectacular turn around since leaving the green stuff that shell be considered a huge chance in this race despite her lack of experience. She hit the dirt running in April with a restricted allowance win and followed that up with victory in The XENON Handicap a month later. With some new found confidence, trainer flurgen2 decided to take on the might of MINISTER OF HUMOR in the G3 Dynamita Sprint in a race she was considered an outside chance at best. At the third call you could be forgiven for being in agreement, but the length of the stretch and a blinding run later she had overcome all but the favorite in her most promising run to date. A minor slip up next race can be forgiven for being a bridge too far and youd expect HIDALGO to be right there to swoop late on some tiring front runners (of which there are many).Record: 12r (6-2-1) $198,782 | 13 | 138068 STAYS IN VEGAS(KY) | DelPenn | texasace02 | P Haynes | 9/1 | | STAYS IN VEGAS (GIANTS CAUSEWAY x DANZIG x FORTY NINER) is another beautifully bred filly, who looks to carry on the dynasty started by her six time graded winning dam VEGAS VIXEN. Shes not quite there yet for trainer texasace02, but shes getting mighty close. Second in the G3 Warfare Farm Stakes and third in both the G3 Bob Barker Stakes and the G3 Dynamita Sprint suggest shell be there or thereabouts come race day. Delpenn being one of the bigger residencies will be after a win. Nevertheless, when you take into account HILDAGO and our next horse to look at; MINISTER OF HUMOR both had her measure last start youd be hard pressed to make a case for her taking the winnings here. Im being harsh though; she has raced against the toughest competition and has performed more than admirably. In fact she hasnt missed the board in over a year. She will be a factor here whether she can turn the tables on the favorite or not.Record: 11r (6-2-2) $367,720 | 14 | 147628 MINISTER OF HUMOR(KY) | NWRC | bandinni | T Bates | 4/1 | | MINISTER OF HUMOR (DISTORTED HUMOR x DEPUTY MINISTER x SECRETARIAT) heads in to this race the deserving favorite, considering her mighty record (eleven races for eight wins). Bandinnis runner for the NWRC has three graded wins to date, the most recent being the G3 Dynamita Sprint. One thing she hasnt done is take out a grade one race, the closest shes come so far being; a couple of fourths in the G1 lool Oaks and the G1 The CEVIAN Stakes. Both of these races have been at or around a mile, which speaks volumes for her versatility, yet you get the feeling she prefers it nice and short. Her classy wire-to-wire in the G2 Fence Fryer Stk over SEHR GUT amongst others is testament to her affinity for the shorter ground. Which sets up todays race nicely to be the day she breaks through for her first win at the ultra-elite level. Shes got the class, shes got the speeds and shes got the race-winning sprint form to back up her favoritism. Undoubtedly the horse to beat.Record: 11r (8-0-0) $424,820 | 15 | 47042 FIRE WEST(FL) | Queensland | graywolf9 | B Knights | 31/1 | | FIRE WEST (FIRE SLAM x BRIGHT LAUNCH x GONE WEST) is the representative for the Queensland residency and trainer graywolf. FIRE WEST is the most heavily raced of todays participants, having already been sent out eighteen times in the year shes been racing. She is a winner of four, the last being in February this year in a six and a half furlong allowance. Since then she has finished second in a stakes race and grabbed some minor money for fifth in the G3 Warfare Farm Stakes behind STAYS IN VEGAS. I think, considering her recent lack of form thats about her limit im afraid. She hasnt continued to progress as expected from mid-year and looks more comfortable in allowance or minor stakes company.Record: 18r (4-5-0) $71,850 | 16 | 147040 MERCY BEAU CO.(KY) | Alpine Turf Club | daisymasha | G Parks | 99/1 | | MERCY BEAU CO. (STORM BOOT x NATIVE ROYALTY x MAJESTIC LIGHT) is the roughie of the field with just two wins from her first thirteen starts. She started her career nicely with a couple of third places in minor stakes as a 2yo, but things have plateau since then. As a 3yo she has yet to post speeds above 85, which will unfortunately put her well out of contention here today. When questioned on MERCY BEAU CO.s prospects trainer daisymasha retorted: "its the equinics, I know she wont win, were just happy to be here and in taking part". Nuff said.Record: 13r (2-0-5) $45,758 | 17 | 2372 WET(BRZ) | Great Plains | kaif032 | J White | 20/1 | | WET (FAST GOLD x DIXIELAND BAND x BROADWAY HARRY) is the five time winning filly representing the Great Plains residency. She is the first foal out of thirteen time winning Dixieland Band mare BRASS PURSE. WET had a non-descript beginning to her career and was resigned to the claiming ranks early on as a 3yo in the hope of finding the winners circle. Win she did and slowly but surely she has turned into a handy little horse for trainer kaif032. In June she was able to put together all that she has learned into winning The LAKE LASSO Memorial over a small, but solid field in a flashy 102. Unfortunately, next up she succumbed in an allowance which her connections would have liked her to win to show that shes taken the next step. This setback and her sixth place behind winner STORMSPECTOR (not here today) and STAYS IN VEGAS in the G3 Bob Barker Stakes suggest a minor medal is the most likely attainable goal here today.Record: 13r (5-3-1) $82,657 Good luck everyone! |
