Equinics 2 Year Old Turf Filly LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY Grade I Six Furlongs on the Firm Turf Course $1,000,000 Fillies and mares, 2 years old Stakes record 2004 Mumbai, 1:10-3/5, SPF 90.152 This Equinics race is named for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by the Ireland Rez. Joining hands to help patients cope: improving the quality of life of patients and their families. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society offers the most comprehensive array of services to patients and families touched by blood cancers. A diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma brings many daily challenges. The Society is committed to providing support and guidance to patients and the health professionals who care for them. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is your No. 1 source for information and support. Leukemia is the general name for four different types of blood cancers. The ways that individuals with leukemia are affected and treated and the rate at which the disease progresses, are different with each type of leukemia. The four types of leukemia each begin in a cell in the bone marrow. The cell undergoes a leukemic change and it multiplies into many cells. The leukemia cells grow and survive better than normal cells and, over time, they crowd out normal cells. This is always my favorite group of horses in the Sim, the young female turfers. I love to watch them early in their careers then follow them through the Breeders Bowl and Horse of the Year vote and on to their three and four year old campaigns. This is a particularly talented group and we are running in this incredible stadium so lets take a look:
 | 1 - SPINSTER MISS(AUS) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Ohio Thoroughbred Racing | 32/1 | KoolAid | 12.4% | S.L.Ledwith | 518 - 98 - 110 - 76 - 19% | 67.03 | $ 15,610 | N/A | ( SPINNING WORLD x HIGH YIELD x FORTY NINER out of ELDORADO MISS) Still looking for her first win, this nicely bred lady out of EL DORADO who won all of her five winners on the grass. This missy likes to get up near the lead so the inside post may help jockey Ledwith set things up. Trainer KoolAid of the Legendary Stables would love to see this girl break her maiden here but there is a ton of classy competition.
 | 2 - SJ'S HAYMAKER(MD) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | EWC | 14/1 | PopsNTips | 12.8% | J Stivers | 551 - 174 - 96 - 89 - 32% | 75.08 | $ 78,580 | 25 | ( TWO PUNCH x THEATRICAL(IRE) x STORM CAT) This pretty little cream colored filly has raced four times and never finished below second place. Two of those were Stakes outing and she won her first Stakes last time out in the THREE MERCY SPECIAL. Her SPF of 75 was good if unspectacular. Her two wins were both closing from the back while her two seconds were both from just off of the lead. Jockey Stivers will have to pay attention to that. Trainer PopsNTips of the SJMeola Stables has the EWC boys hoping for big things from this little filly. She will need to bump the SPF to contend.
 | 3 - WAKE UP SUN(JPN) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Minnesota Downs | 20/1 | RLogans | 10.2% | T.Small | 555 - 163 - 115 - 74 - 29% | 78.28 | $ 100,580 | 6 | (CHARISMATIC x AFLEET x SIBERIAN EXPRESS out of NURSE TABASCO) Here is a filly that is still trying to figure out just where she belongs. Trainer RLogans of the ONEWORLD Stables is in that same boat. After a Stakes win against the boys in only her second race she had a near miss second in a GII then really bounced last time out at seven furlongs in the Smackdown race. She drops back to six F here and would seem to prefer that. The Minnesota crew has high hopes for this sixth rated girl and are hoping that jockey Small can bring her home from this inside post which should help her stalking style.
 | 4 - ADINGERDONG(IRE) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | The CR Racers | 12/1 | Rharfo3 | 7.5% | A.Craig | 544 - 138 - 96 - 85 - 25% | 78.12 | $ 105,120 | 18 | ( AD VALOREM x KINGMAMBO x UNBRIDLED'S SONG) The brown filly with the interesting name brings a top twenty ranking and an undefeated record into the race. Trainer Rharfo3 and the Splitenz Stable are probably praying for rain after her off track win with a 78 SPF for her second Stakes win in a row. That jump in SPF may just be chalked up to maturity though and not just the muck at the track. Craig is a solid blue collar type jockey that gets it done and may be perfect for this filly who seems of the same mindset. She loves the lead and this post and no inside speed may be to her advantage. All in the all, the hopes are high at the CR Racers Rez for this girl.
 | 5 - MOUNTAIN HIGH CAT(IRE) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | NorthWest Racing Circuit | 11/1 | Qwikvett1 | 12.9% | H.Harzheim | 541 - 154 - 85 - 83 - 28% | 83.61 | $ 144,750 | 2 | ( MOUNTAIN HIGH x STORM CAT x J. BURNS out of FIVE PEANUT BUTTER) This looks to be the second nice offspring for Broodmare FIVE PEANUT BUTTER who had an undistinguished racing career. Trainer and owner Qwikvett1 brings the second ranked turf juvy girl to the race with a Stakes and a GIII win in her pocket. Her times have jumped impressively each time out but you have to worry a bit about a bounce here after her impressive 83 SPF win last time out. Jockey H. Harzheim is one of the three Harzheim brothers in this race and will try to make sure that doesnt happen. She appears sharp after her six week rest and could be the one to beat here.
 | 6 - SO IT'S LIKE THAT(KY) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | DelPenn National | 5/1 | SDMFstc | 20.9% | K.Ledwith | 548 - 170 - 101 - 86 - 31% | 88.43 | $ 633,240 | 1 | ( FORESTRY x FORTY NINER x NIJINSKY II out of CROWN OF FALSEHOOD) Right next to the number two ranked filly in the starting gate is this number one ranked girl who looks like a turf monster at a young age. Undefeated and gobbling up the competition in five races, this chestnut filly already has three Stakes and a Grade One win on her resume in only five races. Trainer SDMFstc and the Black Label Stables have to be tickled that a youngster from their Sim Trainer Challenge stable has proved to be this remarkable. The braintrust at DelPenn have jumped on the back of this filly and with good reason. Her 88 plus SPF last time out is the best to date among these youngsters. K Ledwith is in the leather and has proven to be one of the best in the Sim. It is hard to believe that he will let this win get away from him.
 | 7 - MACHI MACHI(ENG) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Blazing Saddles | 19/1 | DeSimster6 | 16.1% | R.Harzheim | 545 - 142 - 100 - 84 - 26% | 73.09 | $ 44,120 | 82 | ( CACIQUE (IRE) x MISWAKI x GIANT'S CAUSEWAY (IRE) out of WAKIWAY) This nice looking entry from the new Blazing Saddles Rez has shown nice improvement every time out. The nicely bred filly ran her first Stakes race last time out and was just a couple of lengths off of the pace and looked to have plenty left in the tank at the end. Trainer DeSimster6 of the Shamrock Stables is hoping that his choice of one of the Harzheim brothers in the irons will help bump up the SPF and bring this lady home. Her mid pack stalking style should work from this post and if it is her day she could be one to be reckoned with at the finish.
 | 8 - GEMMA(AUS) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | RASH | 33/1 | Marcol | 12.1% | An.Mitchell | 121 - 10 - 12 - 14 - 8% | 76.27 | $ 14,774 | N/A | ( FLYING PEGASUS (AUS) x KEY TO THE MINT x ARTS AND LETTERS) After four straight runs in Texas, this filly traveled to South Carolina as a travel prep for this race and the results were less than trainer Marcol of the Cab Stables would have liked. She ran fifth with a uninspired 65 SPF and there are more questions than answers for this youngster at this point in her career. With all of the star jockeys available this race, somehow Mitchell got this mount and has a lot to prove as well. If some of the questions arent answered early in this race it could be a long day for this team.
 | 9 - RAINBOW PARTY(ENG) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Great Plains | 10/1 | SiriusFlit | 15.1% | B.Ball | 547 - 172 - 118 - 63 - 31% | 80.32 | $ 50,850 | 132 | ( GREEN DESERT x RAINBOW QUEST x KINGMAMBO out of LONG COOL RAINBOW) This fillys early campaign has been solid but falls short of being called a Party of any kind. She keeps improving her SPFs for trainer SiriusFlit and the Next Bonus Racing team but she after won her maiden she has fallen just short in a Stakes and Graded outing. Hopefully jockey Ball can use her stalking style to save a bit for the stretch and surprise a few folks here. She looks to have the talent and breeding to get the job done and may just need a little inspiration to get her over the hump.
 | 10 - CHEMICAL PNEUMONIA(KY) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | GR Simsters | 18/1 | AllVindy | 13.8% | P.Harzheim | 545 - 151 - 110 - 80 - 28% | 77.69 | $ 41,950 | 85 | ( ARTIE SCHILLER x CHESTER HOUSE x SECRETO) This pretty light gray filly needs to find some races that end at the three quarter pole as she would be undefeated in that case. Trainer AllVindy and the Cobra Kai Racing Stables has seen this girl grab the lead early in all of her three races only to be caught at the wire in two of those. They are putting it in the magic hands of P.Harzheim to pace her enough to hang on at the end. With limited early speed in this race she should be able to get to the front and push the pace. She could be in the mix at the end if it goes her way.
 | 11 - RED TIME(ENG) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Vermont | 18/1 | RiverDance | 16.0% | M.Day | 504 - 91 - 99 - 78 - 18% | 70.61 | $ 79,080 | 32 | ( RED RANSOM x NOT FOR LOVE x NORTHERN DANCER out of TIMECLOCK) The first really successful offspring of tough running Broodmare TIMECLOCK, this filly looks like she will follow in Moms footsteps. Her mom finished in the money in 32 of 49 and the big brown girl has won all three of her starts including the OMAHA PROSPECTOR Stakes. She hasnt had a really hot SPF yet with the highest being a 70 but she hasnt needed it either. Trainer RiverDance of the LilBitFarms Stables has had great success in the past with some fantastic horses and this looks like it could be another. If she can make a little bump in SPF she could grab the lead early and never let go.
 | 12 - BANG BANG(AUS) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Queensland Racers | 16/1 | KiwiHawkz | 6.3% | A.Hudson | 274 - 14 - 35 - 31 - 5% | 87.10 | $ 168,500 | 3 | ( GUNPOWDER (AUS) x MONARCHOS x SAINT BALLADO out of THE OTHERS) With five races under her belt and three wins including a Stakes and Grade 1, this cream colored filly has made a name for herself outside of the Queensland community. Trainer KiwiHawkz and the Hawkz Stables are really proud of this third ranked filly. Jockey Hudson will have a smorgasbord of choices as she has run from the front, just off of the pace and from mid pack with good results. Hudson could use a good mount as he has been struggling this year. If she can overcome Hudson, she should be in the mix.
 | 13 - OPIUM EXCURSION(KY) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Hispano Parlante | 12/1 | Wrecks2 | 32.9% | Q.Villa | 122 - 10 - 8 - 10 - 8% | 76.80 | $ 32,090 | N/A | ( KINGMAMBO x STORMIN FEVER x UNBRIDLED'S SONG out of OPIUM EXCURSIONS) A lightly raced chestnut filly with a second and win to her credit in her two maiden races. Trainer Wrecks2 and the Pompeya Thoroughbred Racing Corporation are jumping her up in class a heap here but she has nice breeding from her broodmare of nearly and identical name. She made a huge jump in SPF last time out and with another improvement like that jockey Villa should be able to hold on and keep her near the front after a furious charge from the rear. Could be interesting and you can bet that Hispano Parlante will be watching.
 | 14 - MON SLEW(IRE) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Benelux | 11/1 | Kilmory | 14.3% | B.Schardein | 546 - 143 - 117 - 68 - 26% | 69.36 | $ 41,840 | N/A | ( MONTJEU (IRE) x SEATTLE SLEW x ILE DE BOURBON out of COOTERS SLEW) After a successful maiden debut, this filly moved up to Grade I competition but finished just off of the board. She hasnt broken a 70 SPF yet so will have to jump that up to contend here but seems to like the grass and has a nice jock up in Schardein who is particularly good with these young ladies. She is a deep closer which there doesnt seem to be a lot of in this race so trainer and owner Kilmory will probably use that strategy again. It may or may not be a surprise to see her contend here.
 | 15 - CHRISTIE(KY) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Kentucky Horsemen | 19/1 | Rappatomac | 8.8% | K.Daubenspeck | 105 - 8 - 6 - 15 - 8% | 80.12 | $ 100,520 | 38 | ( FLOWER ALLEY x SILVER DEPUTY x CAPE TOWN) Two and a half lengthsthat is how far this filly is from being undefeated on grass. She has two close seconds and two wins including the MEMPHIS TIME Special Stakes last time out. Trainer Rappatomac and the Rivahboat Stables are giving the Kentucky Horsemen Rez a real reason to hope in this race with this fine filly. One worry is jockey Daubenspeck who has been struggling with a sub-10% win percentage so far this year. This girl is a stalker that likes to sit behind the leaders and will have to work to get there from this post. Could be interesting.
 | 16 - EXCELLENT LEADER(IRE) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | EAAA Racing | 10/1 | LondonRed | 12.5% | G.Arnold | 512 - 80 - 108 - 68 - 16% | 80.72 | $ 117,600 | 10 | ( EXCELLENT ART (GB) x MACHIAVELLIAN x DIXIELAND BAND) Three for three including Stakes and Grade III wins, this speedy young lady will have to work to get to the lead from this far outside post. She loves to lead the parade though so Jockey Arnold will have to try and shorten her route to the front. Trainer LondonRed and the BristolRed Stables have high hopes for this girl here and so does the crowd at EAAA. She has gone over an 80 SPF and has done everything asked of her. If she can save ground and get to the front, she may be able to contend here.
 | 17 - DRY FUSION(KY) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Ireland | 9/1 | CommBank | 21.3% | L.Fontain | 375 - 40 - 52 - 42 - 11% | 80.06 | $ 15,565 | N/A | ( FUSAICHI PEGASUS x GIANT'S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x A.P. INDY out of INDYs GIANT) After a couple of lackluster tries on the dirt, trainer CommBank moved this beautifully bred filly to the grass with wonderful results. She immediately threw a sizzling 80 plus SPF and won her first race easily against a full field. She is making a big jump in class here but if she can pull a little bit of improvement over that last race, she could be a force to be reckoned with. Jockey Fontain has been adequate this year and will need to keep her in what promises to be a large group just off of the lead. The Ireland gang would love to raise a few tankards of ale after this race and this girl gives them a chance.
 | 18 - BLUSHING SPIRIT(IRE) | ODDS | STABLE | WIN% | JOCKEY | WIN% | TOP SPEED | EARNINGS | RANK | Alpine Turf Club | 13/1 | BeaBono | 14.5% | P.Bangs | 547 - 128 - 119 - 74 - 23% | 74.40 | $ 26,210 | N/A | ( INVINCIBLE SPIRIT (IRE) x BLUSHING GROOM(FR) x SADLER'S WELLS) Trainer BeaBono and the Red Dirt Runners have their hands full with this girl. She has done a bit of bouncing with a nice win on an off track then solid if unspectacular runs on firm tracks at different distances and levels. She has Bangs holding the reins and his magic hands might be just what she needs to kick her to the next level. She is going to be in that large group of mid pack runners that may be a bit tough on her from this post. If she puts her mind to it she may be able to run past all of them and make a real name for herself. Morning Line = 6-17-9-16-5-14 Paz Picks = 6-5-17-12-16
There is little that is more exciting than having a two year old take off for you. All of these owners have had that and would really like to take it to the next level with a win here in this prestigious race. They are still immature and most anything can happen and normally does with this group. I like EXCELLENT LEADER to finish fifth although she may finish much better. I like BANG BANG to just miss out on the board. Im afraid she might have a bit of a bounce after that last sizzling race. I wish she had a different jock as well. DRY FUSION looked great on her switch to the grass and I think she has enough to finish in the top three. That leaves the top two ranked two year old who are in the gate side by side and put up a race to be remembered. MOUNTAIN HIGH CAT looks like she is on top of her game and should give it a game try from just off the pace. That leaves the win for a hard charging SO IT'S LIKE THAT who will come from just a bit further back and pass everyone in the stretch and claim the win. She should be able to keep her undefeated record intact and really make a name for herself.Good luck to all runners!
