RULES & ENTRIES Scoring is conducted on the Pastures' Posting Board. It's been too long since I've ran a contest at the best Residency in the Sim, so here's a new one that I hope everyone can participate in. It's a 2yo contest and the simple stipulation is that all entrants must be bred using a sire that is located in England. When searching sires, simply click on the all locations tab on the right and select ENG-England. There are 139 sires currently located in England in the sim – I know, I counted them (!) – ranging wildly in talent and value. We have 2 in the 2013 sim top 10 sires in Frankel and Dansili, a further 9 in the top 100 as well as lots of cheaper sires including plenty of talent available at 10 points. Entries can be either scratch bred or bred from mares and be either credit or BP breeds. There is no limit on what you can spend on any horse – that's completely up to you. To level the playing field, all races count the same, whether a maiden claimer or a graded stakes. HOT races do not count, but any other race does. So you can breed at the cheaper end and start off in MCL's if you want to - something available for all and with an equal chance of picking up prizes. A word of warning though, if you do run in a claimer and your horse is claimed, any further races do not count to that horse's points total. So it could be a risky strategy...! The contest is open to everyone who resides at Pastures. Each player can enter a maximum of 3 horses and each horse's first 4 race results give its score. All horses must be unraced when entered and be in a stable supporting Pastures. A win is worth 5 points, a place 3 points, a show 1 point. So the maximum score a horse can put up is 20 points in their 4 races. Any points ties will be settled by fastest spf in those 4 races. If still tied, monies won will come into effect. Each player can only win 1 prize with the winning player getting first pick and so on. The contest starts straight away but you must declare each horse in the Pastures' thread before you run it. Please list each entry in a separate post (unless you are declaring 3 at the same time, then one post is fine) and link the horse if you can to make it easier for me to track. The contest will close at the end of August which should give everyone plenty of time to get 4 runs in. Hope it sounds like a fun idea and maybe gets some of you to look at some sires you normally wouldn't. Please post on the Pastures' Board if any questions or post your entries as you have them.
