When are the 2016 Equinics?
The Equinics for 2016 will be run Aug 06.
Race entries will close approximately two weeks prior to the races being run. This will allow BTB writers ample time to prepare their articles.

What is the Equinics' Theme?
Each year the organizers pick a theme for the Equinics. Past themes were:

2000 - Race With The Olympian Gods

2002 - Run With The Legends - Legendary Racehorses

2004 - With Wings On Their Heels - Honouring past Olympic sites

2006 - Jockeys - All time greats

2008 - Race For The Cure - Charitable Organizations

2010 - "We Are The SIM" and reflected the global community that makes up the SIM world.

2012 -"MAY THE ODDS BE WITH YOU" with races named after Racetracks from around the world.

2014 - TRIBUTES is the theme of the 2014 Equinics. Categories are still being formulated but they involve tributes to SIM horses and SIM players. Players will provide the tribute names for each category. This will become clearer once the race pages are posted.

2016 - MEMORIALS - The 2016 Equinics is themed on serving to preserve the memory of the dead or a past event.

Are the races Grade I?
Yes.
This is a showcase day for SIM Residencies and in order to attract the highest level of competition possible it was decided to make all races Owner Restricted Grade I. The races will be purchased as Owner Restriced Stakes (40000 credits) and Mike has agreed to convert them to Grade I status after they have all been purchased. Mike's continued support of the Equinics is greatly appreciated.

Where are the races being run?
The Equinics Turf races are always run in the equivalent Olympics host country. For 2016 that would be Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Therefore the SIM Equinics Turf races will be run at BRAZIL (BRZ).
The Dirt races will be run at VERMONT (VT), the host track.

How do I get involved with the Equinics?
As of this writing, to the best of my knowledge, most tracks are accepting new residents. Check out the residencies on the Residency List under Connect. (Please note that simply clicking on the Join Residency link does not necessarily mean that you have joined a residency - follow the links on the Residency Name to check out joining instructions for a specific residency.) To be considered a "residency' there must be multiple residents, and a net presence of some kind. Residencies will be looking for help putting together their Equinics Teams. Other ways of getting involved is to donate credits to the equinics credit account and contributing to the Special Equinics Edition put out by the BTB. You can also support the equinics residency with any unaffiliated stables.

How are the tracks picking their horses for the Equinics?
They all do it a little differently, but most use some form of selection committee. Check with your track manager for details. Residency Track Managers are solely responsible for fielding their team and determining eligibility for their residency.

What is the Equinics' Diary?
Each residency is responsible for preparing an article documenting the passage of the Equinics torch through their 'turf'. Past experience has shown that not all residencies meet deadlines for their diary article. Therefore each diary entry is to be treated as an independent article and submitted to the BTB. It is anticipated that track managers will ensure an article is submitted for their respective tracks. Previous diary articles can be read by following the Equinics' links at the bottom of this page and should provide some guidance to diary writers. In any event they remain entertaining reading.

What is the contact email?
All residency questions should be directed to your Residency Manager. Residency Managers and Coordinators can contact us at equinics2016@gmail,com.

How do I get back to the 2016 Equinics Entry Page?
Click on this banner and it will take you back to the 2016 Equinics Home Page:

Is there anything else I should know?
I just want to re-emphasize the requirement to belong to a residency to participate in the Equinics, and that Residency Managers have sole discretion in determining eligibility for their residency. Not every residency will participate, it is the Residency manager's decision. Not every residency will field a full team (ie. they may not enter a horse in every race). Other then that, if you have an unanswered question ask on the Main Board, or your Residency Board.

Listed below are the permanent conditions for the Summer and Winter versions of the SIM Equinics. (Note - the 2016 Equinics are SUMMER races.)
